1. cosmic in the common

There are moments when you breathe deep enough… to think through that breath. In that breath there is an echo of the voice that once said, ‘Let there be’ and there was. I am not saying you we or me are gods rather I am saying ever so briefly that the earth is full of the stuff of God. His voice and peoples and wild asses, they all find a common sharing resolve in the one who is beyond yet close enough to feel in every breath, every conversation and every glance from a stranger. Jesus taught the first followers a way to see God in the stranger, to discovery the cosmic in the common. Maybe that is enough but let me step out into the personal sphere.

I have felt called to do, be and live toward a certain thing. I have never know anything to be so clear and yet so open and freeing. It is a directional thing, this teaching wind and never has it been clearer than in the common-the daily workings of study and love of neighbor. And so today I run around like a squirrel; venturing into the library to find treasures, reading and being inspired and passing a greek quiz. It is here that it begins, but like the reference room of undergrad I was spit out to… go …practice. But while practicing I found myself living and while living I found myself teaching.
